About Us
Manny & Janet Hidalgo and Channel View Farm
We moved to Lopez Island in December 2004 after we came to Washington looking for a place to retire. One visit to "the farm" and we knew this was the place for us. After living, working and raising a family in the San Francisco Bay area for 34 years it was here we wanted to start our next adventures. We enjoy gardening, woodworking and the outdoors and having the cottage has allowed us to share our passions with others.
We look forward to meeting you - we might even let you get your hands dirty in the garden!
The Guest Cottage is completely separate from the main house, with convenient carport parking. The private entrance to the Cottage is through the Secret Garden. Once inside, your accommodation includes a comfy queen sized bed, a fully equipped kitchen including a microwave, satellite television/VCR, and an upstairs loft - an excellent spot for an afternoon nap. Fluffy robes and towels are provided in the full bath.
Overlooking a five acre meadow, your view doesn't stop there. Continue looking west, all the way to Fisherman Bay and out to the San Juan Channel! Hear the wildlife (like the honking of our local geese), witness our Technicolor sunsets on most summer days, and enjoy the beautiful perennial gardens, all viewed from the Cottage windows or flagstone patio.
